What is unexplained infertility?
Unexplained infertility is diagnosed when all results are normal, including a normal semen analysis and open fallopian tubes, but the couple fails to conceive.
Treatment for unexplained infertility
- Timing intercourse to try to conceive during the woman’s most fertile time during her monthly cycle.
- Hormone treatments such as Clomid or other hormones to induce the production of more eggs.
- Intrauterine insemination (IUI) has an increased chance of success over timed intercourse.
- In vitro fertilization (IVF) has high success rates in women with normal ovarian reserve who have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility.
